Artists are invited to participate in the 34th annual fundraiser and exhibit to support the Old Art Building and it's mission to promote arts & culture, provide a community gathering space, and preserve the Old Art Building for generations to come. The exhibit is open to artists who have a connection to the Leelanau County area. Art Leelanau is our largest annual fundraiser, supporting the Old Art Building's general operations fund along with numerous area artists. This exhibit runs through Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Art Leelanau: First Look Preview

Thursday, July 23, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
NEW this year, the First Look Preview is open to members only and limited to 50 people. Wine and light appetizers will be served accompanied by music. Ticket includes admission to Friday nights Opening Reception.

Opening Reception

Friday, July 24, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
This is a ticketed event with live music, a cash bar and heavy appetizers by Sugar 2 Salt (S2S). Artists are encouraged to attend. There is no cost for registered artists, but an RSVP is requested.

Artwork Intake

Artwork must be dropped off at the OAB on Monday, July 20, between 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Due to space constraints only artwork dropped off during this window can be accepted. We can not accept artwork early or via mail delivery.

Artwork Pick-up

Unsold artwork must be picked up at the OAB on Monday, August 3, between 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Eligibility and Rules (Please Read Carefully)
  • Open to artists who have a connection to the Leelanau County area.
  • Entry fee is $35 for OAB Members and $45 for non-members.
  • One entry covers up to two (2) pieces of art submissions.
  • While every effort will be made to include all submissions, the OAB can only guarantee to hang one piece due to space constraints.
  • Due to space constraints, artwork can only be dropped off Monday, July 20, between 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • All 2-D artwork must be able to be hung or mounted on the wall.
  • 2-D artwork must be framed and wired for hanging. Sawtooth hangers are not accepted.
  • Maximum size of artwork not to exceed 1300 sq. in. (unframed). Ex: 30” x 40” = 1,200 sq. in.
  • 3-D artwork is encouraged, but must be approved prior to deadline to ensure appropriate display space is available.
  • Diptychs must fit within overall size requirement. Triptychs are not allowed.
  • Giclee prints are not accepted.
  • Your submission must be originally conceived: your own reference/drawing/concept.
  • Artwork created in an instructional setting (including, but not limited to, workshops and art classes) ARE NOT considered original.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • Artwork must have been created within the last three (3) years.
  • The artist retains copyright to his/her image(s). However, accepted images do become part of the OAB archives and may be used for future OAB event promotion.
  • Art sales will be split 60/40 (artist/OAB).
  • People’s Choice ($100 prize) will be awarded at the end of the exhibit.
