COVID-19 Protocols

Masks are recommended but not mandatory

Masks are no longer required by the State of Michigan. However, for the safety of our volunteers and patrons, we recommend masks in large indoor settings such as audiences, but it is up to individual discretion. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation, understanding and kindness in the protection of our volunteers and patrons.

The Old Art Building is an arts-focused community center. We host quality events and performances for the community, often by the community. Our responsibility and top priority are to provide a safe space for events and performances to be performed and enjoyed by all. We appreciate that not everyone has the same level of concern regarding COVID. For the comfort level and protection of our patrons and volunteers, we have chosen to remain cautious and hope that all who enjoy events and performances at the Old Art Building will be understanding of our reasoning.

OAB’s Safety Commitment

  • Ensuring staff and volunteers are educated about enhanced cleaning protocols and practices.
  • Monitors the health of our staff and ensuring staff stay home when symptomatic.
  • Masking is recommended, not required for ushers, patrons, volunteers and front of the house personnel while in our building.
  • There is extensive cleaning and increased frequency of disinfecting procedures for all high-touch areas such as sanitizing handrails, door handles, countertops, sinks, faucets, bathroom doors, and other frequently touched surfaces.
  • Hand sanitizer, wipes and masks are available for all to use.
  • At this time, there are no social distancing requirements or testing in place. If you are uncomfortable with your seat when you arrive at a show, our ushers will assist in finding alternative seats for you. We will continually monitor the situation and ease protocols as soon as reasonably appropriate.
  • By nature of our ticketing systems, we can complete contact tracing, if necessary.
  • Additional protocols and procedures may be put into place for shows in collaboration with the artists/acts. Please see individual show information for further details.
  •
