Registration Opens March 1st!

Our 2026 Plein Air Painters Program begins Wednesday, May 20, and meets every Wednesday through September 23, 2026.

Artists of all levels and all mediums are welcome. If you haven't tried plein air painting before, this is a great place to start!

This group will paint at a variety of planned locations in the Leelanau County area, including water views, village scenes, rural landscapes, gardens, vineyards and more. Included in the list this year are a number of new locations, including numerous private property locations, giving the artist the opportunity to paint at locations not typically available.

Program includes:

Calendar of paint-out locations and site details provided upon registration.

19 plein air sessions on Wednesdays, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Weekly paint outs begin May 20 through September 23.

Registration in August Clothesline Exhibit.

Must be 18 years old to participate.

Open to all artists, all mediums, all levels of experience.

New participants welcome to join after start date, but must register for full season.

Upon registration you will receive a complete schedule with addresses and a description of each location.

Wednesday, August 19:
“6th Annual OAB Plein air Painters Clothesline Exhibit”

Our 6th annual clothesline exhibit will be setup on the front lawn of the OAB (rain date: Wednesday, August 26).

Registered OAB plein air painters will have the option of participating in the exhibit.
