Escape the rush and embrace the beautiful Danish concept of Hygge.
Join us at the Old Art Building on the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, to mark this powerful transition from darkness back toward light!
From ancient times, humans have commemorated the turning of the year, finding ways to bring literal light to the darkest days. We continue this cherished tradition by inviting you to slow down, connect, and celebrate the season with a cozy winter craft.
Tracy, tapping into her Norwegian heritage, will guide you through the art of Hygge. A concept centered on comfort, well-being, and community gathering through simple pleasures and handiwork.
In this workshop, you will:
- Honor the Season: Reflect on the significance of the Winter Solstice (the latest sunrise and earliest sunset).
- Embrace Hygge: Experience the warmth of community and mindful creation.
- Create Magic: Transform simple recycled cartons into beautiful, glowing winter house lanterns using a variety of mixed media supplies (paint, paper, glitter, natural materials, etc.).
Let's honor this seasonal shift, slow down, and light up our small corner of the world together.
