The Old Art Building is excited to announce 18 weeks of plein air paint outs. The 2023 program begins on May 31 and runs through September 27. Artists of all levels and all mediums are welcome. If you haven't tried plein air painting before, this is a great place to start!

This group will paint at a variety of locations in the Leelanau County area that include water views, village scenes, rural landscapes, gardens, vineyards and more. Included in the list this year are a number of new locations, including numerous private property locations, giving the artist the opportunity to paint at locations not typically available.

SPACE IS LIMITED

Program includes:
– Calendar of paint-out locations and site details provided.
– 18 plein air sessions on Wednesday’s from 9am – 1pm.
– Weekly paint outs beginning May 31 and running through September 27.
– Registration in August Clothesline Exhibit.
– 2023 schedule provided upon registration.

Upon registration you will receive a complete schedule with addresses and a description of each location.

Please note:
– Must be 18 years old to participate.
– Open to all artists, all mediums, all levels of experience.
– New participants welcome to join after start date, but must register for full season.

Returning this season:
Wednesday, August 23, “OAB Plein air Painters Clothesline Exhibit” on the front lawn of the OAB (raindate: Wednesday, August 30). Registered OAB Plein air Painters will have the option of participating in the exhibit.
