Music, yoga and story time are the vehicles that are used to convey love, kindness, self-care and the interconnectedness of all beings. This is the heartbeat of our 1-hour class, Mindfulness and Music!, with Miriam Pico.

This class was designed for ages 1-6 years old, although all ages are welcome. Join Miriam inside the great room at OAB for songs, dance, and stories.

To ensure safety, class size will be limited, and masks will be required for all participants over age 2. Parents must accompany their children.

As a bilingual Puerto Rican, Miriam is always thrilled to sing and teach in Spanish as well.

About Miriam Picó Younce

Mindful and Musical was created in 2015 as a way to design Miriam's dream classes for families with small children. 600+ families have now joined the fun, and what began as one class called Little Bird has grown to become many different offerings for people of all ages! From the tiniest of newborn babies in the Baby Bird class, to toddlers in the Mini Bird class... and including people in their late 90's during inter-generational singalongs, Mindful and Musical has something for every age.

In addition to teaching, Miriam is mother to three children. She has worked as a singer/songwriter since the release of her first CD in 2005. Miriam has a passion for learning, traveling, drawing, connecting with people and being in nature.

Her days begin very early with coffee, yoga and meditation before the rest of her family wakes up. Her thoughtful and kind hearted husband, Ryan, is a great support in helping her realize her dreams.

The Mindful and Musical mission statement expresses the intention for everything we do:

"Let's love our whole selves
from our heads to our toes.
Let's look for the good
wherever we go.
Let's stand against hate
with the peace in me and you.
Let's radiate love
in all we think and say and do."
