 Dr. Mezraq Ramli
Presenting 'Masterpieces'

The Leelanau Community Cultural Center will host the 6th Annual Leland Musical Arts Celebration. The initial idea for this event was brought to us by local resident and Oboist, Mezraq Ramli, who envisioned an evening of classical music highlighting musicians from across the country and even the world.

Now in its sixth year, the LMAC is intriguing many other musicians who want to visit and play in this special venue at the Old Art Building in Leland. Dr. Ramli’s vision is now a reality.

Masterpieces, features music by Handel, Pergolesi, Nash, Garnier and Previn, as well as art pieces by MaryBeth and Al Rollings. Special artist joining Dr. Mezraq Ramli this year is internationally acclaimed oboist and soloist, Andrea Ridilla, who is Professor of Oboe at Miami University. Collaborating in the concert are Dorothy Vogel, Principal Pianist of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, Lindabeth Binkley, Associate Professor of Oboe at Central Michigan University and Liz Bert, Principal Cellist of the Traverse Symphony Orchestra.

About Dr. Mezraq Ramli

Dr. Mezraq Ramli, has a diverse career as a chamber and orchestral oboist, recitalist, teacher and arts administrator. He plays principal oboe with the South Asian Symphony Orchestra (India), second oboe and English horn with the Baroque on Beaver Music Festival (MI), and has performed with several regional orchestras in the US. Dr. Ramli is oboe instructor at Northwestern Michigan College and has served on faculty at Lubbock Christian University and Saginaw Valley State University. In 2015, he founded the Leland Musical Arts Celebration, a summer chamber music and visual arts series, that brings artists from all over the US and abroad, to Leland.
