"Early bird" ticket sales start in May.

Come to our 9th annual plein air exhibition and sale. Artists will have painted in various locations en plein air. The show will display these works "fresh off the easel" – for your enjoyment as well as to purchase.

On Saturday, May 22, artists will be painting “En Plein Air”. This virtual paint-out allows artists to work from any location in the world! We look forward to the surprising results!

Afterwards, participants must upload three specific photos for the exhibit: The work, the inspiration for the work and a photo of his/herself (in the environment of the work). Our team of tech experts will then create a virtual exhibit for your viewing pleasure.

Early bird exhibition and sale begins on Sunday, May 30 from 5 – 6 pm, Tickets $25.

On May 30, you have the option to view and purchase the paintings one hour earlier than the general public. To gain this advantage, you must purchase the access code for the advance viewing and sale. The code will be emailed to you shortly before the early bird sale begins.

Public viewing exhibition and sale is free and begins one hour later, at 6 pm.

On Sunday, May 30, at 6 pm, the exhibit will be open to the public. The exhibit and sale will continue until Sunday, June 13, at 6 pm.

Plein air artists from Leelanau County and beyond have been invited to participate in this event. Artists will donate forty percent of the art sales to the Old Art Building. Prizes for Best of Show and People’s Choice will be awarded.

The painting that wins the juried Best of Show award will be used as the key image identity in the poster for the annual Art Leelanau Benefit and Art Exhibition in July. The poster is reproduced as a high quality art print and made available for purchase throughout the year.
