Intro to Hip Hop: 5th - 8th Grade

This class for beginners specifically focuses on developing rhythm and coordination while encouraging individual style. This hip hop class is a fast-paced and energetic dance style using the latest dance moves set to hip hop music. The class will include hip hop technique and choreography, and of course freestyle improvisation! We will have a blast dancing to upbeat music and the latest hits.

This is an 8 week class meeting on Monday evenings.
Open to students: 5th - 8th Grade

Suggested attire: Come dressed for movement in clothing and shoes that are flexible and comfortable.

December 4

This class will conclude with a final performance on the last day of class. Family and friends are invited to join the class for a Hip Hop Holiday performance on Monday, December 4 at 7:00 PM. Cookies and hot cocoa will be served.

Meet the instructor Joedy Annis

Joedy Annis is a healthcare professional and Traverse City native who is also a life-long dancer. She is a Hip Hop instructor for Northwestern Michigan College and the Founder/Owner of Dance Battle 4 The Cure.
