Intro to Hip Hop

This class is an introduction to hip hop style dance. Discover how to develop rhythm, flexibility, and precision in your muscle memory. The class will include hip hop technique and choreography, and of course freestyle improvisation! We will have a blast dancing to upbeat music and the latest hits.

This is an 7 week class meeting on Monday evenings.
Open to students: 2nd - 4th Grade

Suggested attire: Come dressed for movement in clothing and shoes that are flexible and comfortable.

Class meets the following dates:
October 7
October 14
October 21
October 28
November 4
November 11
November 18

This class will conclude with a final performance on the last day of class. Family and friends are invited to join the class for a Hip Hop Holiday performance on Monday, November 18. Cookies and hot cocoa will be served.

Meet the instructor Joedy Annis

Joedy Annis is a healthcare professional and Traverse City native who is also a life-long dancer. She is a Hip Hop instructor for Northwestern Michigan College and the Founder/Owner of Dance Battle 4 The Cure.
