This 4 week class is all about playful art making with a focus on the process and experience of creating!

Students will be invited to make art using a variety of mediums and materials, be encouraged to use their imagination, problem solve, and be supported with age appropriate guidance to skill-build.

This class aims to enhance your child’s creative confidence, while providing an enriching and safe environment to explore the arts. The natural surroundings and seasonal changes will be an influence on the design of each class.

A light snack will be provided, but parents are welcome to send extra nourishment for kids who need something more substantial.

Class will meet on Wednesdays, 3:30 ~ 5:00 PM, and is best suited for children in kindergarten through second grade (other ages will be considered upon request).

Meet Tracy

Tracy Smedes-Hepler is a former teacher and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with 13 years experience as a preschool teacher at the Leelanau Children’s Center. She has been a mother and nanny for over 22 years! Her love of the arts and creativity inspired her to launch an arts exploration business, Tearwater T, which aims to provide art programming to local children. After a successful first summer, she is excited to re-engage with the youth in her community this school year as a creativity mentor and process-arts teacher at OAB.
