The initial idea for Leland Musical Arts Celebration was brought to us by local resident and Oboist, Mezraq Ramli.  He envisioned an evening of classical music highlighting musicians from across the country and even the world.  Now in its second year, the LMAC is intriguing many other musicians who want to visit and play in this wonderful place . . .the Old Art Building in Leland. Dr. Ramli’s vision is now a reality.  This years concert will take place on September 15, 2018 at 7:30 pm.  Tickets for the event are $20 and are available at or call 231-256-2131.

This years artist is Trudy Underhill.

Trudy, a retired psychiatric social worker, became interested in painting since retiring to the Leelanau Peninsula 20 years age.  She has grown as an artist by experimenting with various styles and mediums but painting mostly with acrylics.  In her paintings she uses vivid color and abstraction to depict her personal view of the world around her.  Her work has been exhibited in various shows, featured on several posters for special events and published on note cards that are offered by the Leelanau Community Cultural Center.
